As of 2021, 5 people from Goa have received the Padma Bhushan award.

The Padma Bhushan is the third-highest civilian award in the Republic of India, after the Bharat Ratna and the Padma Vibhushan. It is awarded for distinguished service of a high order, to citizens of India, in any field.

The award was instituted in 1954. The first person from Goa to receive the Padma Bhushan was Dr. Jack de Sequeira, a physician and social worker, in 1961. The other four recipients are:

  • Dr. Kashinath G. Prabhu, a scientist and educationist, in 1971
  • Dr. Wilfred de Souza, a social worker, in 1981
  • Mr. Dattaraj Salgaocar, a businessman, in 1991
  • Mr. Manohar Parrikar, a politician, in 2014
