While figures varied across different age groups and definitions, the percentage of the total workforce with formal vocational training was often cited as being in the low single digits. For the 20-24 age group, despite being younger, the penetration of formal vocational training was still remarkably low compared to global standards. Data sources like NSSO employment-unemployment surveys corroborated this.
