The single biggest investment proposal in UT of Ladakh is Rs. 50,000 crore grid connected Solar Photo-Voltaic Project in Leh and Kargil. The project is expected to generate 3,000 MW of power and will be implemented by the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC).
The project is expected to create employment opportunities for over 10,000 people and will help in the development of the region. It will also help in reducing the dependence on fossil fuels and will contribute to the government’s goal of achieving 100% renewable energy by 2030.
The project is currently in the pre-construction stage and is expected to be completed in 3-4 years.
