Lalit Mohan Sharma was the first Indian Chief Justice of Patna High Court after independence. He was appointed to the position on 26 January 1950, and served until 1956.
Sharma was born in 1894 in the village of Bhojpur in Bihar. He studied law at the University of Allahabad and was called to the bar in 1918. He began his career as a lawyer in Patna, and later served as a judge of the Patna High Court from 1947 to 1950.
After his retirement as Chief Justice of Patna High Court, Sharma served as a member of the Law Commission of India from 1956 to 1961. He died in 1966.
