Virender Sehwag made his One Day International (ODI) debut for India against South Africa on 15 November 1999 in Bloemfontein. He scored 115 runs off 104 balls, including 14 fours and 3 sixes. He was the first Indian batsman to score a century on ODI debut.
Sehwag was a right-handed opening batsman and occasional right-arm off break bowler. He was one of the most destructive batsmen in the world and was known for his aggressive batting style. He was also a very good fielder and took 115 catches in ODIs.
Sehwag played for India for 13 years and represented the country in 249 ODIs, scoring 8273 runs at an average of 35.05. He also scored 23 centuries and 42 half-centuries in ODIs.
Sehwag retired from international cricket in 2013. He is currently a commentator and cricket analyst.
