The https:\/\/exam.pscnotes.com\/<\/a>union-public-service-commission”>Union Public Service<\/a> Commission<\/a> (UPSC<\/a>) is the central government agency in India that conducts the Civil Services<\/a> Examination (CSE), popularly known as the Ias<\/a> exam. The CSE is one of the toughest exams in the world, and only a few thousand candidates are selected out of the lakhs who apply every year.<\/p>\n

The CSE is a three-stage exam, consisting of the Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Personality<\/a> test<\/a>. The Preliminary Examination is a two-hour objective test, consisting of two papers, General Studies Paper I and General Studies Paper II. The Main Examination is a nine-hour written test, consisting of seven papers, General Studies Paper I, General Studies Paper II, General Studies Paper III, General Studies Paper IV, Optional Paper I, Optional Paper II, and Optional Paper III. The Personality Test is a 30-minute interview conducted by a panel of experts.<\/p>\n

The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination are not counted for final selection. However, the candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination are eligible to appear for the Main Examination. The marks obtained in the Main Examination are counted for final selection. The candidates who qualify in the Main Examination are called for the Personality Test. The marks obtained in the Personality Test are also counted for final selection.<\/p>\n

The final selection is made on the basis of the marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Personality Test. The candidates who are selected in the CSE are appointed to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police<\/a> Service (Ips<\/a>), and other Group A and Group B services of the Government of India.<\/p>\n

The score card of the IPS exam 2024 is likely to be released in the month of May 2024. The score card will be available on the official website of the UPSC. The
