Understanding the HTET Exam
The Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) is a mandatory exam for aspiring teachers in Haryana. It assesses a candidate’s eligibility to teach in government and private schools in the state. The exam is conducted by the Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) and is divided into three levels:
- HTET Level 1: For teachers of classes 1 to 5.
- HTET Level 2: For teachers of classes 6 to 8.
- HTET Level 3: For teachers of classes 9 to 12.

Syllabus:
Child Development & Pedagogy:
- Child Development: Theories of child development, stages of development, cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development, learning and development, individual differences, assessment of learning, inclusive education, and special needs education.
- Pedagogy: Teaching-learning process, teaching methods, classroom management, curriculum development, assessment for learning, educational technology, and teacher’s role in society.
Language 1 (Hindi/Sanskrit):
- Grammar: Parts of speech, tenses, voice, sentence structure, punctuation, vocabulary, and composition.
- Literature: Prose, poetry, drama, and literary movements.
Language 2 (English/Punjabi/Urdu):
- Grammar: Parts of speech, tenses, voice, sentence structure, punctuation, vocabulary, and composition.
- Literature: Prose, poetry, drama, and literary movements.
Mathematics/Science/Social Studies:
- Mathematics: Number system, arithmetic, algebra, geometry, mensuration, and statistics.
- Science: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Environmental Science.
- Social Studies: History, Geography, Civics, and Economics.
