{"id":8654,"date":"2024-06-14T03:44:12","date_gmt":"2024-06-14T03:44:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/exam.pscnotes.com\/current-affairs\/?p=8654"},"modified":"2024-06-14T03:44:12","modified_gmt":"2024-06-14T03:44:12","slug":"state-plans-to-ride-on-gatishakti-for-growth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/exam.pscnotes.com\/current-affairs\/state-plans-to-ride-on-gatishakti-for-growth\/","title":{"rendered":"State plans to ride on GatiShakti for growth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The industries department is set to prepare a master plan, based on priority areas, as the  looks to gain from the Centres huge <a href=\"https:\/\/exam.pscnotes.com\/investment\">Investment<\/a> proposal for <a href=\"https:\/\/exam.pscnotes.com\/infrastructure\">Infrastructure<\/a> development under the ambitious PM<u>GatiShakti<\/u>initiative.<\/p>\n<p>Launched in 2021 by the Narendra Modi government, PM GatiShakti national master plan aims to bolster multi-modal connectivity through coordinated planning and execution of infrastructure projects such as roads, railways, <a href=\"https:\/\/exam.pscnotes.com\/airports\">Airports<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/exam.pscnotes.com\/ports\">Ports<\/a>, mass transport, waterways and <a href=\"https:\/\/exam.pscnotes.com\/logistics\">Logistics<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Though the commerce and transport department was initially assigned the task of preparing the master plan, the industries department has now been roped in for the purpose.<br \/> State industries secretary<u>Hemant Sharma<\/u>said the state government has already been preparing a logistics master plan with the help of Rail India Technical and Economic Service (<a href=\"https:\/\/exam.pscnotes.com\/rites\">RITES<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The industries department will soon appoint a state nodal officer for the project, who will coordinate with the nodal officers of other line departments to initiate the future course of action. The nodal officers will also attend a four-day (March 14 to 17) training programme at BISAG-N in Ahmedabad, Gujarat to deliberate on the plan.<\/p>\n<p>Odishas 480-km long coastline offers long-term potential for cargo handling by leveraging the sea routes.
