The expert appraisal committee of the Union ministry of Environment<\/a>, forest and https:\/\/exam.pscnotes.com\/<\/a>Climate<\/a>-change”>Climate Change<\/a> (MoEFC) has recommended extension of validity for development and drilling of wells in the Cauvery basin in seven blocks (on-shore) inTamil<\/a> Nadu<\/u>for three years.
The panel gave the recommendation following a proposal in this regard from theOil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited<\/u>(Ongc<\/a><\/u>).<\/p>\n

ONGC had got environmental clearance on January 30, 2015 for drilling 30 development wells (on-shore) in the Cauvery basin in 7 blocks – Greater Narimanam ML block, Adiyakkamangalam ML block, Nannilam I andNannilam II ML<\/u>blocks, Kuthanallur ML block, Greater Kovilkalappal ML Block andPundi ML Block<\/u>.<\/p>\n

These fields are now identified for production enhancement contracts. Development plan and drilling of new wells in these fields would be firmed up after detailed study, the report said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
