{"id":7022,"date":"2024-06-14T02:54:59","date_gmt":"2024-06-14T02:54:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/exam.pscnotes.com\/current-affairs\/?p=7022"},"modified":"2024-06-14T02:54:59","modified_gmt":"2024-06-14T02:54:59","slug":"maharashtras-onion-exports-up-by-27-in-april-october-period","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/exam.pscnotes.com\/current-affairs\/maharashtras-onion-exports-up-by-27-in-april-october-period\/","title":{"rendered":"Maharashtra&#8217;s onion exports up by 27% in April-October period"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The onion export from Maharashtra has increased by 27% during the April-October period of the current financial year (2022-23) when compared to the same period last year.<\/p>\n<p>According to data provided by the Agricultural and Process Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), which functions under the Union ministry of commerce and , onions export from Maharashtra state increased to 7.32 lakh metric tonne (MT) during the April-October period of the current fiscal, earning foreign currencies amounting to Rs 1,389 crore.<\/p>\n<p>The state had exported 5.9 lakh MT of onions during the same period (April-October) during the previous financial year 2021-22, earning foreign currencies amounting to Rs 1,399 crore.<\/p>\n<p>Last financial year, the onion exporters had got a rate of Rs 2,420 per quintal on <a href=\"https:\/\/exam.pscnotes.com\/average\">Average<\/a> due to the scarcity of onions. But the onion exporters received comparatively low rates this year as compared to last year due to the huge supply of onions.
