Governor CP Radhakrishnan today said that it is our to safeguard the lifeline of people and restore its pristine glory. Efforts have been made to address these challenges, with initiatives focused on river conservation, pollution control, and Sustainable Development<\/a>. As responsible citizens, we must support these efforts and become custodians of the Damodar River. We must strive to conserve its waters, protect its ecosystem, and promote sustainable practices in our daily lives.<\/p>\n

The Governor was addressing a gathering on the occasion of Devnad Damodar Mahotsav in Rajrappa, Ramgarh on Tuesday in the presence of former Minister Saryu Roy and other prominent persons of the State.<\/p>\n

The Governor said that the ‘Damodar River’ is Jharkhand’s lifeline and is considered a holy river. It holds immense significance for Jharkhand and the entire region wherever it flows. It is not just a water body; it is the lifeblood of Jharkhand, nourishing the land and its people. It traverses through the heart of the state, weaving its way through its diverse landscapes and playing a vital role in shaping the lives of the communities it touches. The river’s importance can be seen in various aspects of life in Jharkhand. It serves as a crucial water source for Irrigation<\/a>, facilitating agricultural practices that support the livelihoods of countless farmers.<\/p>\n

The source of the Damodar River is the village of Chulhapani. The local people believe that Chulhapani is the abode of deities. Several Dams<\/a> and power Plants<\/a> harness its fast-flowing waters and drive economic Growth<\/a>. It is unfortunate that later it has become one of the most polluted rivers in the country.<\/p>\n

The Devnad Damodar Mahotsava is a celebration of our cultural heritage and an occasion to raise awareness about environmental conservation and sustainable practices. It reminds us of our responsibility to protect the Damodar River and its ecosystem, ensuring its cleanliness and preserving its natural beauty for future generations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
