Phthalates, a group of chemicals commonly used in plasticizers and as softeners for Polyvinyl chloride<\/a> (PVC), have become ubiquitous in the environment due to their unrestrained use and improper disposal.<\/p>\n

The research revealed the presence of different types of phthalate compounds, indicating a significant level of soil contamination. Ward number 1 and 5 were found to be the most contaminated by phthalate metabolites.
