On the first day of a two-day tour to Haryana, President Droupadi Murmu attended the civic reception hosted in her honour by the atHaryana<\/u>Raj Bhavan on Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the day, she offered prayers amid chanting of mantras as she formally inaugurated the International Gita Mahotsav-2022 on the banks of Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra. She also launched Nirogi Haryana, a state-level Health<\/a> check-up scheme, e-ticketing system forHaryana roadwaysbesides laying the foundation stone of a medical college in Sirsa. She also attended the 18th convocation of the National institute of technology<\/a>, Kurukshetra.<\/p>\n

The President acknowledged the contributions of Haryana in various fields such as politics, space science, Sports<\/a>, Food Security<\/a> of the country, industrial production, Services<\/a>-sector”>services sector<\/a> and DEFENCE<\/a>. She said that with the area of less than 1.4% and Population<\/a> of less than 2% of India, Haryana has been contributing immensely in the overall development of the country.<\/p>\n

Lauding farmers of Haryana, she said they have made invaluable contributions to the food security of India.<\/p>\n

Along with Agriculture<\/a>-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture<\/a>, Haryana is also a leading state in the industrial production and services sector, she said, adding that it is a major automobile manufacturing state. She further noted that more than 250 Fortune-500 companies have their offices in Gurugram and this city is called a Global City.
