Uttar Pradesh achieved the target of 50 per cent of its Har Ghar Jal scheme which is aimed at providing clean drinking water to rural families.<\/p>\n
As many as 1.3 crore families in rural areas have got tap connections, which will benefit 7.9 crore people. Under the Har Ghar Jal scheme, a total of 2.6 crore rural families have to be provided clean water by 2024.
The Centre has congratulated the Yogi government on its achievement. Jal Shakti minister Swatantra Dev Singh and principal secretary Anurag Srivastava Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply department congratulated the officials, engineers and staff for the achievement.
The scheme has been implemented in the remote areas in nine districts of Bundelkhand and Vindhyan region.<\/p>\n
In seven districts in Bundelkhand, over 11 lakh families got a clean water supply. Mahoba district is on the top of the districts that have got new tap connections in the Bundelkhand region. A total of 91.8% of rural families in Mahoba have got clean water supply.
