The Union Government<\/a> announced an action plan for adopting Cheetah in India on 5 January.<\/p>\n

Highlights:<\/p>\n

During the 19th meeting of the , the Environment<\/a> ministry issued the “Action Plan for Adoption of Cheetah in India.”<\/p>\n

In India, 50 cheetahs would be introduced over the next five years as part of the action plan.<\/p>\n

Cheetahs will be transported from South Africa or Namibia in groups of 12 to 14.<\/p>\n

A satellite-GPS-very high-frequency radio collar will be put to each of the cheetahs.Cheetahs will be transported internationally by either a passenger airplane or a chartered flight.<\/p>\n

They will be relocated to Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno Palpur National Park<\/a> (KNP).<\/p>\n

According to the strategy, the Union government, the Ministry of Environment, and the Cheetah Task Force will establish a formal structure for engaging with Namibian and\/or South African administrations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
