The state since the onset of novel coronavirus pandemic, according to the data shared by state Health<\/a> and family welfare department.<\/p>\n

The number of boys (27,851) with Covid-19 infection was higher than the girls (20,839). Also, 1.42 lakh cases among minors were recorded in the age group of 11-20 years. Together, it formed about 11.3% of the total caseload in the state.<\/p>\n

The data is crucial in view of the concerns that more children could get infection in the anticipated third wave. Global estimates indicate that about 40% of cases in the third wave could affect minors.<\/p>\n
