The number of cybercrime cases in city is on the rise despite the efforts by the Police<\/a> to create awareness among the local residents. Over 200 cases have been reported between January and May this year. Over 70 per cent of the cases were related to financial crimes.<\/p>\n

Police said the victims have lost their hard-earned to online fraudsters. Most of the victims are educated and working in the technology sector. The cybercrimes police station in Visakhapatnam registered at least 316 cases in 2021 in which fraudsters stole about 7.9 crore.
