Chhattisgarh<\/u>is set to get its first food irradiation plant which will help in keeping food grains, vegetables and minor forest produce safe, fresh and quality for a long period of time. Two MoUs were signed to strengthen the Agriculture<\/a>-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture<\/a> and rural economy<\/a> in the state.<\/p>\n

An MoU has been signed with the Chhattisgarh Bio-Fuel Development Authority for the transfer of Nisarguna a modern technology of power generation from cow dung from Bhabha Atomic Research Center (Barc<\/a>),Trombay<\/u>, Mumbai. Plants<\/a> will be set up in Gauthans to produce electricity and bio-fuel from cow dung and agricultural waste. Women<\/a> of self-help groups will generate electricity from the cow dung being purchased in the Gauthans of the state.<\/p>\n

The second MoU is for the establishment of Food Irradiation Center in Chhattisgarh. The inked MoUs with Board of Radiation and Isotope Technology (BRIT), Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India and the Chhattisgarh State Seed AGRICULTURE DEVELOPMENT<\/a> Corporation.<\/p>\n
