While vehicle sales zoomed across the country in current financial year,Andhra Pradesh<\/u>witnessed an unprecedented decline in sales numbers in the first two quarters of 2022-23, especially in two-wheeler segment. The Growth<\/a> rate of cars also dipped in AP contrary to other states resulting in overall decline in vehicle sales. AP is the only state in the country which recorded negative growth in vehicle sales.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, the tax collections by transport department in the current fiscal have gone up by 40% in AP despite weak sales numbers. The two-wheeler sales have come down by 6.5% in the first two quarters of current fiscal when compared to the corresponding period of previous year. The car sales are the only respite to AP which grew by 8.3% but substantially lower than the national Average<\/a> growth rate of 21%.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
