{"id":11793,"date":"2024-06-14T15:08:54","date_gmt":"2024-06-14T15:08:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/exam.pscnotes.com\/current-affairs\/?p=11793"},"modified":"2024-06-14T15:08:54","modified_gmt":"2024-06-14T15:08:54","slug":"odisha-39000-from-backward-classes-yet-to-get-pmay-g-houses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/exam.pscnotes.com\/current-affairs\/odisha-39000-from-backward-classes-yet-to-get-pmay-g-houses\/","title":{"rendered":"Odisha: &#8216;39,000 from backward classes yet to get PMAY-G houses&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>More than 39,000 eligible families from socio-economically weaker section in the state are yet to get houses under<u>Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin<\/u>(PMAY-G), a written reply by Union minister of state for rural development, Niranjan Jyoti, in<u>Lok Sabha<\/u>shows.<\/p>\n<p>In reply to a query by<u>Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari<\/u>, Jyoti told the Parliament that of the 41.72 lakh households enlisted in Socio Economic and Caste Census (SECC) list of 2011 in<u>Odisha<\/u>, 18.75 lakh were verified as eligible by the state under PMAY-G as on December 16.<\/p>\n<p>The state is yet to sanction houses to 39,180 beneficiaries while 1,99,882 sanctioned houses are yet to be completed from the 18.75 lakh beneficiaries made available through SECC 2011. The state has sanctioned houses to 18.36 lakh. Out of this, houses of 16.75 lakh have been completed.<\/p>\n<p>The Union minister said there is target to construct 2.95 crore houses under PMAY-G in the country to achieve the objective of Housing for All in rural areas.
