Seventy-two percent of the electorate voted on Thursday to elect three Zilla Panchayat and 27 Janpad members as well as fill posts of 152 Sarpanch and 330 Panch in Chhattisgarh.<\/p>\n
The polling was by and large peaceful across the state.<\/p>\n
State Election Commissioner Thakur Ram Singh said no untoward incident took place at any place. He patted the officers and employees for the successful conduct of the polls.<\/p>\n
He said along with youth, elderly and differently-abled voters actively participated in the voting.<\/p>\n
There were 4,37,282 voters for the three-tier Panchayat , out of which 3,04,450 exercised their franchise. The number of male voters was 1,55,039 and females 1,49,411.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
