The Prerna Sthal was inaugurated to mark Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam<\/a>‘s 90th birthday as well as the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. Dr. Samir V Kamat, DRDO<\/a>‘s director-general (Naval Systems & Materials), jointly unveiled a statue of Dr. Kalam on the occasion.<\/p>\n

On the same occasion NSTL products Varunastra, Torpedo Advanced Light<\/a> (TAL), and Maareech decoy are displayed.<\/p>\n

The Naval Science and Technology<\/a> Laboratory (NSTL) is the main naval research laboratory that is part of the DEFENCE<\/a> Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).<\/p>\n

Visakhapatnam is the location. The primary mission of NSTL is to conduct research and development on underwater weapons and systems.<\/p>\n
