Ranchi has of late been experiencing severe water shortage due to the widespread disappearance of water bodies. The district was once renowned for its reservoirs and community waterbodies, which supported the region’s agricultural economy<\/a>. However, as a result of unchecked Urbanisation<\/a>, several of these vital Resources<\/a> have perished over time.
RMC sources said as per their survey two years ago, there were 194 ponds and reservoirs in the RMC area a few decades ago.
