Uttar Pradesh government’s plantation drive to also bring income to ‘gaushalas’

Plantation of 30cr trees in the state in coming July would be an`organic’ exercisecompletely with no chemical Fertilizers and pesticides being used. Organic compost and`jeevamrut’ will be used instead of chemical formulations. It will be an extra Source Of Income for `gaushalas’ as is keen to make them self-reliant.

Gaushala’ products were used for plantation for the first time, on a large scale, last year. State nurseries had prepared `jeevamrut’ on their own. This time the move is being repeated.

There are about 1,700 nurseries in the state and last year, forest department had raised 44cr saplings to plant 25cr trees in a day. This time, nurseries may raise a higher number of saplings.
