Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said that Uttar Pradesh has made a big leap in the field of basic Education over the past six years and many schools which were on the verge of closure have been rejuvenated during this period because of a strong will, determined efforts, Resources, technology and innovation.
Inaugurating the Sampark Smartshala-Smart Block programme, a joint initiative of the Basic Education department and Sampark Foundation, held at Yogiraj Baba Gambhirnath Auditorium, the CM said that the Skilled India Mission, with better use of technology, was giving great results in improving the quality of education in the state.
Under the programme, 58 council schools in the city area and 68 in Chargawan block were equipped with LED TVs as well as maths and English kits. The CM personally provided kits to the teachers from five schools and also released the magazine of Sampark Foundation.
The chief minister said education is the foundation of Society. He said that prior to 2017, there were insufficient toilets, flooring, and drinking water facilities in the schools. With around 1.34 crore children attending about 1.56 lakh schools, there was also a severe shortage of teachers in schools, he added.
