Union minister to launch solar projects in Madhya Pradesh

Union ministerfor power R K Singh and CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan will lay the foundation stones of three solar power projects with a total capacity of 1,500 MW on November 25 (Thursday). The very same day, the will also launch the ‘Urja Saksharta Abhiyan’, a mass campaign on how to stop the wastage of electricity.

Mishra said that the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the three solar power projects – Shahjapur 450MW capacity, Agar 550MW and Neemuch 500MW-will be done together on November 25 at a function where the Union power minister will be chief guest.

The government’s Urja Saksharta Abhiyan will connect schools, colleges and the general public in the movement to stop wastage of power. In another major decision, the cabinet ratified the amendment of the Gram Panchayat Raj evam Gram Swaraj (Samsodhan) Vidhayak, 2021.
