TheTamil Nadugovernment on Wednesday signed six memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with various institutions and companies based inSingaporein the presence of chief ministerM K Stalinat an conclave on the second day of his nine-day visit to Singapore and Japan.
The MoUs signed included an understanding between Guidance Tamil Nadu and Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries (SICCI) in the fields of research and invention, university cooperation, cooperation between government institutes and private sectors and support for export activities of industries from Tamil Nadu, besides one between Sipcot and Singapore India PARTNERSHIP Office (Sipo) for cooperation in economic activities and development. Another MoU was signed between Sipo and FameTN and Tansim in developing skills in technical Education and easing the activities of startups by working closely with StartupTN.
In addition, Guidance Tamil Nadu signed an MoU with Hi-P International Private Limited, based in Singapore, for establishing an electronics factory in Tamil Nadu.
The venture would attract an investment of312 crore and is expected to provide EMPLOYMENT for 700 people.
