Thegovernmenthas approved the master plan for the upcomingNoida International Airport(NIA) which will begin operations in about three years by handling 1.2 crore passengers annually with one terminal and a runway.

The master plan, prepared byaviationconsultants Landrum & Brown and Zurich Airport International, has been cleared by DGCA, AAI, BCAS and environmental authorities.

The NIA masterplan also has provision for General Corporate Aviation facilities, including a VVIP terminal, a General Aviation Terminal and Heli taxi pads. These facilities will cater to the needs of state dignitaries, handle private jet movements and helicopters.
