The work of documenting tribal culture and traditions is going on rapidly and will be completed by August 2022.

Lakheshwar Baghel, Chairman of the Bastar Region Tribal Development Authority, also urged the Bastar tribal communities to cooperate and assist in the documentation.

Baghel was addressing a one-day workshop to conserve the tribal culture and tradition in Bastar region. It was held at the Bastar Academy of Dance Art Literature and Language (BADALL) at Aasna in Bastar district.

Baghel said the Chhattisgarh government had initiated the process of documentation of unique culture and tradition of Bastar tribes namely Madia, Muria, Bhatra, Halba, Dhurva, Dorla and others.

He underlined the need to preserve the traditions in the fast changing scenario and said the project will be finished by the time India marks the 75th anniversary of its independence.
