The Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD) minister Rekha Arya has transferred a total amount of Rs 6.72 crore tobank accounts of Anganwadi workers for their contribution as frontline workers during Covid-19 pandemic across state. She said that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had announced to give an amount of Rs 2,000 per month under Anganwadi Protsahan Rashi scheme to Anganwadi workers and their assistants for next five months from September as an incentive for their contribution during pandemic.

Since first installment was transferred in October by CM, Arya transferred second installment to bank accounts of a total of 33,631 Anganwadi workers. She said that online transfer of funds saves time and promotes transparency between government and beneficiaries.

She stated that Anganwadi workers are backbone of department considering which has also hiked their monthly allowance.
