The two days fourth Jharkhand International Film Festival was inaugurated at the historical Audrey House on Friday. The programme coincides with the on-going celebration of 75th independence year of India celebrated as Amrita Mahotsava.

The festival has been organized in association with the Directorate of Film Festivals, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India and Jharkhand Public Relation Department.

Noted personalities from art, literature, film namely Padma Shri recipient Madhu Mansuri Hansmukh, Dr Mahua Manjhi, Karan Kashyap, Ajay Malkani, Dr Anil Thakur Suman, Shobha Yadav graced the occasion.

Rishi Prakash Mishra, a member of the organizing body said that as many as 72 short and feature films will be screened during two days programme. He said that other than India films from Switzerland, USA, Germany, Australia, Taiwan, China, Iran, Argentina, Sri Lanka, Kosovo, Italy, Canada and Brazil will be displayed.

He said that filmmakers of Jharkhand will get the opportunity to screen their films whereas local artists will get a chance to display their talent. The occasion will be special as several plays of noted playwright Rajiv Sinha will be staged.
