The generation of electricity from cow dung should be taken up on a mission mode, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Monday.

Already three gauthans in Raipur, Bemetara and Durg district are producing electricity. Soon, the villages should be self-sufficient in power generation.

The Chief Minister said the electricity generated from gauthans will be procured by the , generating revenue for the villages.

The Women self-help groups should not be given just the limited work of converting cow dung to vermi-compost.

Apart from community kitchen gardens, mushroom production, Fisheries, goat rearing, Poultry and, manufacturing different products from cow dung will be promoted, the Chief Minister said.
