The Chhattisgarh Mukhyamantri Bal Uday Yojana aims to take proper care of the children from child care institutions, said Kiranmayee Nayak, Chairperson, Chhattisgarh State Commission for Women.

She was addressing a day workshop to discuss the implementation of the Mukhyamantri Bal Uday Yojana by the Women and Child Development Department in collaboration with UNICEF at Labhandi, Raipur.

She said it is a unique scheme which prevents children from becoming criminals and guides them towards a bright future.

The scheme targets children going out from child care institutions after completing 18 years of age.

Under the scheme, 108 children of 69 child care institutions in the state have been identified in the first phase, an official Communication said.
