The Chhattisgarh government keeps the interests of farmers in mind as most people in the state depend on agriculture, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Saturday.

He said this while attending a function of Kurmi community in Kanhera village in Saja assembly segment of Bemetra district.

Development of Chhattisgarh was the dream of our ancestors along with improving the lives of farmers, labourers, poor and backward classes, he said.

The Chhattisgarh government is moving forward fulfilling the dreams of our forefathers.”

He said the was working towards empowering and carving out a strong state. The development of people of all walks of life is our priority, he said.

Firstly, the debt of farmers was waived off. Secondly, paddy, maize and sugarcane were procured at support price.

NYAY schemes and decisions taken in interest of farmers, tribal people, Women and youth have shown a big change in peoples lives, he said.
