A decision in this regard was taken on Friday at a cabinet sub-committee meeting held under the chairmanship of Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey.
Choubey told the media that they have chosen the day as it was death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
This flagship scheme of the is known as a morale booster for famers and has encouraged farming and farm sector in Chhattisgarh.
Under the scheme, record paddy procurement of 92 lakh tonnes was done from the farmers from December 1, 2020 to February 15 this year.
Under the scheme, a financial assistance of Rs 10,000 per acre is given to the farmers apart from paying them the minimum support price fixed by the Union Government.
Apart from encouraging paddy growers, the government also benefits maize and sugarcane producing farmers.
