The students of such eligible schools will be given a Scholarship of Rs 500 per month from Class 1 to 8 and Rs 1,000 per month from Class 9 to 12, an official press release said.
The School Education Department has asked all Collectors to implement the scheme in coordination with the School Education, Health and Social Welfare departments.
Besides children who lost their parents, those children who have lost the family breadwinner can also benefit from the scheme.
Eligible children will get free education in government schools and priority in admission to the state-run Swami Atmanand English Medium Schools in the state.
