As per official figures, each doctor in the state-run facilities saw 16,283 patients, on an Average, each year (53 patients per day) in PHCs during the year 2021-22. This has increased from 14,935 patients in the previous year. This is the fifth highest in the country after Nadu (27,170), Puducherry (20,157), Kerala (17,483) and Delhi (17,169), according to the latest report of the Health Management Information System, released by the Centre.
The averageOPDat PHC level across the country was 9,973 in 2021-22.
At the community health centre (CHC) level, each doctor saw 9,103 patients per year (accounting for 28 patients per day), while each doctor at the district hospitals saw 4,037 patients during 2021-22.
