Telanganahas been working on an action plan on overuse ofantibiotics, which results in antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and is one of the few states in the country to do so. Two rounds of meetings have been conducted to discuss state action plan on AMR recently.
As part of the plan, AMR stakeholders have been identified as departments of Health
and family welfare (hospitals & medical colleges), animal husbandry, development, Fisheries (veterinary hospitals, food institutes/labs) and Environment and forests (TSPCB).
