Telangana budget may see record push for health allocation

With an eye on future pandemics and bolstering healthcare facilities,Health allocationin 2022-23 budget is expected to be Rs 1,2000 crore, way up from the current Rs 5,868 crore allocation.

The state may establish a separate corporation, similar to the Mission Bhagiratha commission, to raise loans for health allocations.

Telanganas allocation from the Centre for the national health mission in the current budget was Rs 1,010 crore. After Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture and allied sectors, welfare departments, and Irrigation departments, the receives the highest budget allocation.

Medical and health expansion plans include increasing bed capacity, Oxygen treatment, health smart cards, and screening for non-communicable diseases. The State Government also intends to increase the number of normal deliveries in government hospitals.

The state government would need Rs 4,000 crore to upgrade Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) and four other super specialities around the city.
