The Asian (ADB) and the Government of India signed a $484 million loan agreement to improve transportation connectivity and facilitate industrial development in Tamil Nadu’s ChennaiKanyakumari Industrial Corridor (CKIC). ADB is the Government of India’s lead partner in developing ECEC.

The ChennaiKanyakumari Industrial Corridor (CKIC) is a part of the East Coast Economic Corridor in India (ECEC).
It reaches all the way from West Bengal to Tamil Nadu.
It connects India to the South, Southeast, and East Asian production networks.
The CKIC will provide:
seamless road connectivity across industrial clusters
transportation gateways and consumption centres
Assist in lowering Logistics and production costs
It emphasises sustainability, Climate-change”>Climate Change resilience, and road safety Elements, with the goal of accelerating industrial transformation by providing critical transportation, energy, and urban Infrastructure.
