Tamil Nadu govt keen on reforming recruitment process: Minister

Nadufinance ministerPalanivel Thiaga Rajan said the GO to make qualifying in aTamilexam mandatory for all government jobs is the beginning of a reformation. He said the government is working on bringing in a robust change on the ecosystem of the recruitment boards in the state.

There was no uniformity in recruitment boards, including theTamil Nadu Public Service Commission, the Medical Recruitment Board and the Forest Recruitment Board, said the minister and added that they need a massive change and reformation to standardise the procedure.
As on date, the sanctioned posts in government sectors is 14 to 15 lakh and the present headcount of the government staff is around nine lakh. Besides a large number of vacancies in the government departments, the backlog vacancies breached 30,000.
