130-km long Indo-Bangla Friendship Pipeline likely to be commissioned in FebruaryThe 130-km long international oil pipeline, known as the Indo-Bangla Friendship Pipeline (IBFPL), which will carry fuel from Assam-based Numaligarh Refinery Ltd’s (NRL) marketing terminal at Siliguri in West Bengal to the Parbatipur depot of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) is likely to be commissioned by February, said reports. The seed of the ambitious project was sown in 2017, when Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his meeting with Hasina in 2017 had agreed to finance this pipeline with a capacity of one million metric tonne per annum (MMTPA).

Following the ceremonial inauguration of the IBFPL which was held in September 2018 was completed on December 12 last year. The total project cost for construction of the IBFPL is Rs 377.08 crore. Out of this, NRL’s is Rs 91.84 crore for the India portion of the pipeline, while the remaining Rs 285.24 crore for Bangladesh portion is being funded by the Indian government as grant-in-aid, said reports.

Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin urged to consult farmers ahead of agriculture budget

Delta farmers have requested chief minister M K Stalin and the Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture minister to hold a consultative meeting with farmers associations before presenting the agriculture budget in the assembly so as to ensure that the government addresses the long-standing demands of farmers.

The farmers also wanted the chief minister to instruct district collectors to first organize such meetings at the district level, especially in delta districts, before calling the state-level meeting.

With officials busy preparing the budget components for 2023-24, this was the right time to invite farmers representatives to discuss various issues related to the progress of the farming community before preparing the budget.

Kerala startup ecosystem most vibrant: CM Pinarayi Vijayan

Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the two-day Huddle Global, Asias largest tech conclave, organized by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) at The Leela Raviz, Kovalam.

During his inaugural address he defined Kerala as the state that has built the most vibrant startup ecosystem in the country. He further said that an emerging technology startup hub will be set up in the capital to further strengthen the incubation and support innovation programmes.

Noting that the state offered the best opportunities for a wide array of enterprises for startups in various domains like IT, VT (virtualization technology), and Food Processing, the chief minister said a major initiative to connect tourism Industry with startup ecosystem is in the offing.

Min vows to make Ktaka first in chip making

The state will emerge as the topper in manufacturing of semiconductors and chips in the coming years, akill development minister Dr CN Ashwath Narayan said.

Ashwath Narayan said that currently Taiwan is the topper in manufacturing of semiconductors and chips. Now Karnataka is focused in that sector.Karnataka is the only state where Skill development training is being provided for non-technical students too, he said.

57% spike in cybercrime a worrying trend in Telangana

The overall crime rate in the state has increased by 4.4% and the jump is manily because of a massive 57% rise in cybercrime according to Police.

For the year 2022 the overall conviction rate was 56%, and among these conviction cases, 152 led to life imprisonment.

The report by police also pointed out the rising instances of cybercrime cases, which saw the number jump from 8,839 in 2021 to 13,895 in 2022.

Jagan launches projects worth Rs 986 cr in Narsipatnam

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy laid the foundation stone for a medical college and other developmental works worth Rs 986 crore in Narsipatnam in Anakapalli district on Friday.

He unveiled plaques of Yeleru and Tandava canal link projects, to be built at a cost of Rs 470 crore, as well as the Rs 500 crore Government Medical College at Narsipatnam and Rs 16.60 crore road widening works on Narsipatnam highway.

Announcing that a Tribal university will soon be established in the area, Chief Minister observed that he felt proud to launch various development works and hoped to launch more of the same, with people’s support, in the future.

Pathik will help track guests checking into hotels: Goa Police

To keep a check on tourists visiting the state,Goa policehave started discussions with hotels to use a Software which will help it check every guest checking in and out.

Goa Police is in the process of implementing the Pathik software developed by Ahmadabad city police.Pathikis aimed at creating a digital searchable Database of all visitors/guests checking in and out of hotels and lodges.

Goa is a major tourist destination with a very large footfall, and it is expected that the implementation of Pathik would be a great help in ensuring the safety of citizens and tourists through better prevention and detection.

Maharashtra plans toll-free helpline 181 for women

The announced a toll-free helpline 181 for Women across the state. The helpline will be operational in two weeks. It will be available on all days of the week, 24 hours of the day.

This initiative is part of the Centres Mission Shakti. Women can dial the helpline to seek help on issues like dowry and child marriage and for information about programmes for women in the state.

Heatwave in Punjab, Haryana drops countrys wheat production by 2.75 million tonnes: Agriculture Minister Tomar

Extreme weather conditions, especially in wheat growing states: Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, have negatively impacted the production of wheat crops in the country as the production has declined by 2.75 million tonnes this year.

As per the fourth estimate for the agricultural year 2021-22, the production of wheat is estimated at 106.84 million tones, indicating a dip of 2.75 million tonnes (2.5 per cent) as compared to 109.59 million tonnes estimated during 2020-21.

Experts are linking early heatwave in the month of March in Punjab, Haryana and UP with the dip this year.

The latest report of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) had already shed Light on the crop damage caused due to the scorching heatwave in the months of March and April 2022.
