Punjab CM Mann seeks President’s nod to sacrilege Bills

CM Bhagwant Mann has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, seeking help in getting Presidential nod for the two Bills seeking harsher punishment for sacrilegious acts.

The two Bills amendments to the IPC and CrPC have been awaiting nod since these were passed by the Vidhan Sabha in 2018. The Bills provide for harsh punishment like life imprisonment for anyone causing damage or committing sacrilege.

Rs 500-cr Budget proposal sent for promotion of eco-tourism

A Rs 500-crore budget proposal has been sent to the Centre for approval so that tourist spots in the tribal district of Lahaul and Spiti can be developed properly, lending push to eco-tourism.

Lahaul and Spiti MLA Ravi Thakur said that after the opening of the Atal Tunnel on the Manali-Leh highway, the district had emerged as a popular destination among domestic and foreign tourists. However, the area is not fully developed to reap the maximum benefit of the Atal Tunnel for tourism promotion.

State Govt to install 8,000 sanitary pad vending machines

The will install 8,000 sanitary napkin pad vending machines ‘Meri Saheli’ across all districts to make them available in public places for easy access, said the Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD) minister Rekha Arya on the occasion of Menstrual Hygiene Day on Sunday. She said that the government is making consistent efforts to eliminate the hesitation of young girls and women towards menstruation and raise awareness about menstrual hygiene and Health awareness in general. She said that menstruation is a natural phenomenon and children should be made aware of this to ensure they do not get wrong information about it and get misguided on the topic by believing in taboos associated with it.

She said that though times are changing and people are more aware of menstrual health and associated facts but many still believe in taboos and consistent efforts are being made to raise awareness among the maximum number of people. The WECD minister stated this during her address at an event in Dehradun held on the occasion of Menstrual Hygiene Day. Many girls and women participated in the event interacted with health experts and asked questions about menstrual health.

Uttar Pradesh numero uno in implementing welfare schemes

In a remarkable achievement for the Uttar Pradesh Government, the state has secured the top position nationwide in effectively implementing eight welfare schemes for the underprivileged and the needy. This achievement also highlights Chief Minister Yogi Adityanaths sensitivity towards common people.

The eight schemes include Prime Minister SVANidhi Yojana among others, which seeks to uplift street vendors by providing them interest free loans for running their businesses.

Uttar Pradesh tops in the country by providing the benefits of the scheme to maximum number of street vendors. Madhya Pradesh ranks second and third in taking the welfare scheme to the people.
An official spokesman of the government said that the chief ministers regular monitoring and reviewing of implementation of a variety of central governments schemes in the state had put Uttar Pradesh at the forefront in delivering its benefits to people.

Just 1% of 30,000 Jamshedpur auto drivers wears uniforms

The March 1, 2021, orders of the district transport office (DTO), which made uniforms mandatory for auto-rickshaw drivers inJamshedpuris not being followed, two years later.

The rule was implemented after due consultations with the office bearers of the citys auto union, keeping in mind the safety of the passengers, especially Women who travel alone in the Steel City.

Earlier, a few cases of women passengers in the city and neighbouring Seraikela-Kharsawan district having complained that auto drivers misbehaviour were reported.

Hence, the administration issued the dress code for auto drivers besides bus drivers and cleaners. City bus drivers and cleaners were instructed to wear khaki pants and shirt with name tag.

Steps taken to fight climate change in state: CS

MP committed to the success of Cheetah project: CM

All possible cooperation including financial Resources will be provided by the Central Government for the protection, conservation, promotion and proposed Cheetah Protection Force. Union Minister Yadav was discussing with Chief Minister Chouhan, Forest Minister Dr. Vijay Shah and senior officials of the State Government in a high-level meeting at Samatva Bhawan.

Information about the survival rate of birth of cheetah cubs was given in the beginning itself. The entire staff associated with the Cheetah project is working dedicatedly.

Adani Green Energy commissions 130MW wind power plant in Gujarat

AsAdani Green EnergyLimited (AGEL) commissioned a 130 megawatt (MW) wind power plant in Kutch, Gujarat, its total operational wind generation capacity crossed 1GW. The plant has been commissioned by Adani Kutch Five Limited, an AGEL subsidiary.
The plant now has a power purchase agreement (PPA) over 25 years, of 130 MW with Solar Energy corporation of India (SECI) at Rs 2.83 per kiloWattHour (kWH)

With the commissioning of the plant, AGELs total operational RENEWABLE ENERGY generation capacity rose to 8,216 megawatt (MW). AGEL has set a vision to achieve 45GW renewable energy capacity by 2030.

States 1st Integrated Resource Recovery Park coming up at Tholai near Jaipur

With electronic waste fast emerging as one of the biggest contributors topollution, the state forest and Environment department is all set to lay the foundation stone of Integrated Resource Recovery Park spread over 48 ha area in Tholai, Janwaramgarh.

This will be the first such park in the state and will encourage the setting up of waste processing units. Shikhar Agrawal, additional chief secretary, forest and environment, tweeted, It will have 100 plots ranging from 1,000 sq m to 10,000 sq m. These plots will be mainly provided to set up units wanting to process various types of wastes like E-Waste, plastic waste, end of life vehicles and old-batteries, etc.

The state forest and environment department in the recent draft ofRajasthanElectronic Waste Disposal Policy 2022 had proposed to set up an integrated recycling park, which will be responsible for recycling, refurbishing and dismantling of electronic waste in the state.
