Odisha to spend Rs 1,062 crore to boost health infrastructure

The Odisha government has planned to spend Rs 1062 crore for strengthening hospital in the state this year. As many as 863 hospital projects from the sub-centre to district headquarters hospital (DHH) level have been selected for infra upgradation.As per the state action plan 2022-23, additional units will be constructed at nine DHHs at the cost of Rs 26.7 crore along with buildings for six sub-divisional hospitals at Rs 240 crore and 60 CHCs at Rs 596 crore.

The Health and Family Welfare department has also decided to upgrade five PHCs/CHCs at a cost of Rs 4.6 crore, construct 47 PHC and staff quarter buildings as per IPHS norms at Rs 35.57 crore, 40 sub-centre buildings at Rs 18.4 crore and provide basic amenities at 696 PHCs and sub-centres at Rs 82.42 crore besides the residential and non-residential complexes under AYUSH department at a cost of Rs 58 crore.

Finance minister K N Balagopal said that Kerala will become a manufacturing hub if Vizhinjam port becomes a reality.

Punjab implements vehicle scrapping policy; Offers tax rebate up to 25% on new vehicles

Implementing the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways scrapping policy, Punjab Cabinet on Friday decided to provide a tax rebate up to 25 percent to the owners of scrapped automobiles on the registration of new vehicles.

while the owners of non-transport vehicles can avail a rebate up to 25 per cent under section 13(3) of the Punjab Motor Vehicle Act, 1924.

In a major decision, the Cabinet has approved a policy for the disbursement of Discretionary Grants by the Chief Minister and his Cabinet of Ministers for the creation and repair of existing basic Infrastructure, improving the Environment, and fulfilling the basic needs of the poor.As per the decision, the Chief Minister will have Rs five crore in his discretionary quota, while the Cabinet Ministers will have Rs 1.5 crore each during the financial year.

Himachal CM urges Union government to enhance disaster fund for state

Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday urged the Union Government to enhance the disaster fund for Himachal Pradesh as the State is prone to various types of natural disasters due to difficult topographical and climatic conditions.

He was virtually addressing the inauguration function regarding setting up of two Doppler Weather Radar for the State, virtually from New Delhi by the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Earth

Sciences, Government of India Dr. Jitendra Singh. These Doppler Weather Radars have been established at Jot in Chamba district and another at Murari Devi in Mandi district of the State.

The CM said that one Doppler Weather Radar was installed at Kufri in Shimla district on 15th January, 2021 and with the commissioning of these additional two radars, about 70 per cent area of the State will be covered for Weather forecast. He said that still about 30 per cent area of Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti district will not be covered under these Radars.
