New schemes soon to hike income of poor: Haryana CM

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday said that the will come up with new schemes in the coming days to increase the income of poor families. Along with this, old schemes will also be reviewed.

The goal of the government is to deliver the benefits of the schemes to the last person standing in the line. The second phase of Antyodaya Melas will start across the state from January 7 and in the first phase 156 fairs were organized in which 90,000 out of 1.5 lakh families took part.

He said the loans of many people who came to these Melas have also been approved and the purpose of these melas is to encourage poor families to take up EMPLOYMENT.

The Chief Minister held a meeting with Additional Deputy Commissioners across the state in which Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, V Umashankar and all the Deputy Commissioners were connected virtually.

Departments dealing with Education, Welfare Schemes asked to identify new voters

Punjab Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Dr S Karuna Raju on Tuesday exhorted various departments dealing with students and welfare scheme beneficiaries to help them in registering new voters, who have turned 18-years-old so that 100% enrolment of eligible electors could be ensured.

The CEO, accompanied by Additional CEO Amit Kumar was chairing a meeting of various departments including Technical Education, EMPLOYMENT Generation, Sports, Medical Education, Health and Family Welfare, School Education, Higher Education, Labour Department and Social Empowerment etc at his office here. He had earlier on December 21 constituted a three-member committee for identification of new voters. Dr Raju said that these departments have all the data of young voters and if these departments join hands with the CEO office they could help in registering maximum eligible voters.

Modi to lay foundation of Dhaula Sidh hydel power project

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of 66 Mega Watt Dhaula Sidh hydel power project on December 27. It is learnt that the PM will lay the foundation through virtual mode while he would come to Mandi on completion of four years of the Jai Ram government in the state.

Significantly, the project would be constructed on Beas river and the work on the approach roads and 253 m long diversion tunnel of 10.20 m diameter has been completed by the executing agency Satluj Jal Vidhut Vikas Nigam Limited (SJVNL).

Dhaula Sidh Hydroelectric Project will be a run-of-the-river power project to harness the hydel potential of the Beas. It will have a storage of 6.87 million cusec meter water to utilize it during lean season. Rajesh Chandel, project head, said here that the main dam would be 69.75 m high and 195.14 m long concrete gravity dam would be constructed with two 62 m long pen stokes of 4.3 m diameter to produce the electric power.

Uttarakhand: Govt aided college students demand money for tablet device scheme

After for tablet devices being released for the students of class X and XII and with money assured to be released for the students of the State Government-run degree colleges as well, the students of government-aided colleges have also raised the demand for their inclusion as well in the scheme.

The students demand that the government is planning to release Rs 12,000 into the bank accounts of around 2.59 lakh students which include both, board classes students as well degree colleges ones, therefore, the government should include them as well as their Population is quite low.

The state government has said that the improvement in its Ease of Living rankings over the last four and a half years has been one of its major achievements.

According to the Ease of Living Index, 14 UP cities have been considered better in terms of living in the country. While Lucknow has been ranked the best place for living in the state, Varanasi is the second. Among small cities, Jhansi has been considered to be the best. Among all states, Lucknow has been ranked 26th among big cities, followed by Varanasi. Jhansi has ranked 34th among smaller cities.

NITI Aayog report: Bihar second worst on health parameters

Bihar has emerged as the second-worst performer, just above Uttar Pradesh, in terms of overall Health performance among the larger states in the fourth Health Index released by the. Kerala has emerged top among the 19 larger states.

Bihars index score was 31, a tad better than UPs 30.57. The maximum index score that a state/UT can achieve is 100 and Kerala scored 82.20.

However, in terms of incremental performance, Bihar was placed in the category of larger states which had shown positive results. Still, this was not significant in case of Bihar.
The fourth round of the Health Index has taken into account 2019-20 as the reference year and 2018-19 as the Base Year.

While maximum incremental performance was shown by UP with 5.52 points more than the base year, Bihars performance has increased by 0.76 points in reference year from the base year.

As per the report, the states showing 0.01 to 2.0-point improvement have been placed in the category of least improved, those less than 0 as not improved, those from 2.1 to 4 as moderately improved and those more than 4 as most improved. As per this categorisation, Bihar and four other states fall in the category of least improved.

Cgarhs tableau to showcase Godhan on Republic Day

Chhattisgarhs tableau depicting the flagship Godhan Nyay Scheme was on Tuesday selected by the Empowered Committee of the Union Defense Ministry for the Republic Day Parade.

The tableau passed through a two-month selection process and was finally picked to roll out in the Republic Day parade, Commissioner Public Relations Dipanshu Kabra said in a communiqu.

Only 12 of the total 28 States in the country made an entry to roll out in the parade. The Chhattisgarh tableau is one among them, Kabra said.

The tableau, focused on Godhan Nyay Scheme, is all about combining traditional knowledge with a scientific Attitude and strengthening the rural economy by providing alternate livelihood , Kabra said.

At the front of the tableau rural Women are seen collecting cow dung and taking it to the Gauthan. The women are in traditional clothes and jewelries of the region. One of them is seen taking dung-made products to sell in the market.

There are flower pots around them which show the greenery in the Gauthans in form of cultivation of vegetables and flowers.

At the rear portion the Gauthans are being developed as rural industrial park and women take advantage of Entrepreneurship development with modern machines.

In the mid portion, the tableau to shows Environment conservation, Organic Farming, Nutrition, EMPLOYMENT and Growth in income.

Bhopal to have world-class sports science centre

After successfully running the Sports science centre atTatya Tope Stadium, the sports department has decided to open a new sports science centre with all modern and world-class facilities. The centre will be developed at the new sports complex for which the cabinet has allotted a 50- acre land inNathu Berkheda.

Sports ministerYashodhara Raje Scindiawanted to have a sports science centre with better facilities. Scindia said, “These games need intense focus. Several times, players, despite being talented, fail to hit the target owing to various reasons. After witnessing similar situations in other games, I felt that we should have a bigger sports science centre. The new centre will have all the facilities that one can think of.

Sources said the centre will have a high equipped lab with modern equipment like Bertec instrumented treadmill, activio real-time heart monitoring, 3D analysis, high performance gym and such others.

Gujarat mulls new law for CCTV installation and data sharing

If all goes to plan for the , the installation of at least oneCCTVcamera facing the street and providing its feed to local Police for use in crime prevention and detection will be required by law by early next year.

Highly placed sources said several senior Ias and Ips officers are being consulted to bring a draft to life to regulate and integrate the use of CCTVs across private and public buildings in the state. The draft is likely to be tabled in the budget session of the assembly.
Sources close to the development said that so far, commercial establishments are covered in the police notification for installation of standard CCTVs. The proposed law will also cover residential societies and colonies.

Along with involving departments such as urban development, roads and buildings and the like, the government has also sought legal advice to ensure that provisions of the proposed law are not challenged in court.
