Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister JP Dalal on Monday said that modern strategies of horticulture are being provided to the identified villages of State under Village of Excellence programme which will further benefit the farmers of the State.

This step will enhance the trend of adopting new techniques and farmers would be able to increase their income sources as well. So far, 11 centres of excellence have been established within Haryana with the help of national and international agencies, Dalal said during the third day of India- Israel Conference on Centres of Excellence and Villages of Excellence organised at Panchkula.

He said the State Government has decided to setup 64 centres of excellence in villages within the year of 2021 to promote modern strategies in horticulture.

Punjab sees increase in percentage of anaemic and obese in 5 years

People ofPunjabare not in the pink of their Health, according to the National Family Health Survey (NFHS). There has been a rise in the Percentage of those who are anaemic both among children and adults as well as increase in obesity in the last five years.

Almost all the indicators pertaining to the nutritional status of adults and anaemia among the Population have deteriorated since the fourth round of the NFHS held in 2015-16.
The Union health ministry released the factsheet fieldwork of which was conducted from January 5, 2020, to March 21, 2020, prior to the lockdown and from December 6, 2020, to March 31, 2021 post-lockdown.

As per the report, the percentage of Women in the age group of 15-29 years who are obese or overweight has increased from 31.3% five years ago to 40.8% in 2020-21 while the weight of 32.2% of men have been found ato be bove the advisable limits in comparison to 27.8% in 2015-16.

The data revealed that the number of anaemic children in the 6-59 months bracket jumped from 56.6% to 71.1%. Anaemia refers to a health condition in which the blood does not have enough healthy red blood cells. The percentage of nonpregnant women aged 15-49 falling in this category increased from 54% to 58.8% while in the case of pregnant women the count rose to 51.7 % from 42% in the last survey.

A significant drop has been noted in the knowledge of HIV/AIDS among those aged 15-49. Only 20.6% of women were found to be having comprehensive knowledge of the deadly diseases in comparison to 49.3% five years ago while in the case of men, knowledge dropped from 62.3% to 37.6 % in the latest survey.

CM: Himachal Pradesh to be best investor destination

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said the was committed to make Himachal Pradesh the best investor destination in the country. The Chief Minister was on a days tour to Baddi where he inaugurated an industrial unit. He said owing to their continuous efforts Himachal has attained 7th rank in Ease of Doing Business in the country.

He said to attract Investment, the first Global Investors Meet was organized in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2019 in which investment MoUs worth Rs 96,000 crores were signed. Within a month of the meet first ground-breaking ceremony was organized in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in which an investment of about Rs 13,500 crore was received.

Thakur said to encourage more investment, the second ground breaking ceremony would be organised soon with expected investment of several crores.

The much awaited Sports Policy 2021 was approved by the Uttarakhand cabinet on Tuesday. In the draft of the policy several measures have been taken to sharpen the budding sporting talent in the state.

The Sports Minister Arvind Pandey said that the government will be selecting 300 children aged between 8 to 14 years old from every district of the state every year.

A Physical and Aptitude test (PSAT) will be conducted to identify the sporting talent among them and sharpen it. These children will also get a Scholarship of Rs 1500 per month. Similar process will be followed for 200 players between 14 to 23 years of age in every district and they would be paid a scholarship of Rs 2000 per month. The selected youngsters will also get sports kits, tracksuits and other tools and equipment related to the games they play. All these facilities will be given under the Mukhya Mantri Udayiman Khiladi Unnayan Yojana.

National Family Health Survey-5- Highlights

Report finds that, in Uttar Pradesh, only 1.5% Women aged between 30 and 49 years have undergone screening test for cervical cancer in life.

Many Health indicators have improved in the state.

Less domestic violence with women was reported.

Sex ratio has also improved.

Use of family planning methods and institutional delivery has increased.

Diarrhoea infection among kids has decreased.

As per NFHS-5, 1.1 % women in urban areas and 1.7 % women in rural areas underwent screening. Thus, rural women scored better with respect to awareness and screening for cervical cancer.

Number of women (aged 30-49 years) who had undergone breast examination for cancer was just 0.4%, in rural as well as urban areas surveyed.

Number of women, who undergone for oral cavity examination for cancer was only 0.6% in rural as well as urban areas.

The State Government celebrated Jharkhand Day at the Jharkhand pavilion of the ongoing India International Trade Fair at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. Over 500 industrial units set up in Bihar, says Shahnawaz Hussain

Launching project CHIRAAG worth Rs 1,735 crore, chief minister Bhupesh Baghel said that the Central government has ignored the needs of Chhattisgarh farmers and did injustice to them by not providing proper support in paddy procurement process as well as sufficient supply of Fertilizers like diammonium phosphate.

Chhattisgarh has yet managed the crisis by the grace of mahtari (motherland) and cows and we launched ‘Godhan Nyay Yojana, with the help of which, we produced 12 lakh quintals of vermicompost from the cow dung. Hence, we met the requirement without any dearth of DAP fertilizer for agricultural production as state can use the compost made of dung.

CHIRAAG project will be implemented in 14 districts of state, our main objective will focus on ensuring income generating avenues for farmers in tribal belt and introduce advanced and technical agricultural ideas based on climatic conditions of the place, to add value to agricultural product for better gains, provide nutritious food and intelligent utilization and management of natural resources.

The State Cabinet decided that Urja Saksharta Abhiyan would be launched in the State to make all the citizens energy literate. Through the campaign, the citizens of the state will be given information about energy saving.

Efforts will be made to make all the citizens of the state energy literate according to a time bound action plan under the Urja Saksharta Abhiyan. The activities to be included in this campaign are to develop an understanding of the expenditure and dissipation of energy in the general public, to give information about traditional and alternative sources of energy and to create an understanding of their impact on the Environment, meaningful dialogue about the use of energy, energy conservation and management, to create the ability to make decisions for efficient use of energy based on its awareness, understanding of the effects, consequences of energy consumption, mitigating the environmental risks and negative impact of https://exam.pscnotes.com/Climate-change”>Climate Change and enabling the selection of different energy technologies.

Taking a step towards tackling the effects of Global Warming and climate change, the State Government is starting an Urja Saksharta Abhiyan. Through this unique campaign, the students of schools and colleges and the general public will be given information about energy and energy saving. The Cabinet has approved the decision of the state government to give guarantee to Project development by the state government – one of the major factors for the competitiveness and minimum tariff received in the tender issued for more than 10 times the total capacity of 1500 MW of Agar-Shajapur-Neemuch Solar Park. Due to this the lowest solar tariff has been achieved in the country. The guarantee of the state government has resulted in several benefits. The project development got loans at low interest rates due to payment security.

RENEWABLE ENERGY capacity of about 5100 MW capacity has been established in the state till September 2021. It has solar power capacity of 2432 MW and wind power capacity of 2444 MW. About 21 percent of the total power supply available in Madhya Pradesh comes from renewable energy.

Sagar Shakti Exercise conducted in Kutch Peninsula

The Sagar Shakti Exercise was held from November 19 to 22, 2021 in creek sector of the Kutch peninsula.

The exercise witnessed participation of the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, INDIAN NAVY, INDIAN COAST GUARD, Gujarat Police, Border Security Force, and the Marine Police.

Southern Command of Indian Army organised high-intensity exercise with the aim of testing combat readiness of the agencies in real-time.

Exercise also involved the insertion of troops and complex manoeuvres by forces to deal with any possible security challenges simultaneously in land, water and air domain, in an integrated manner.

This exercise was held at the time when India has bolstered its maritime combat capability in Light of evolving security scenarios in Indian Ocean Region.
