Haryana CM approves 900 MW power plant in Yamunanagar

The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to India Chang Jae-bok, on his maiden visit to Chandigarh, paid a courtesy call to the Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Banwarilal Purohit and evinced interest in the promotion of cultural and educational exchange programmes.

Extending a warm welcome to the delegation, Purohit advocated the need for stronger between the two countries. He suggested enhanced people-to-people contact through cultural exchange programmes and assured as the Chairman of North Zone Cultural Center (NZCC) the facilitation of cultural troupes from the five Northern States of India.

The Governor apprised of the Ease of Doing Business and the one window clearance system for Investment in Punjab and suggested that the Korean manufacturing Industry would find a very suitable Environment for setting up their units in the State. He invited them to be a key partner of Make in India initiative by forging business ties and setting up joint ventures in Punjab and Chandigarh.

300 MW canal top and floating solar power projects to be set up in Punjab

To ramp up while utilizing natural sources optimally, Punjab Government has decided to install Solar Power Photovoltaic (PV) projects with a total capacity of 300 megawatt (MW) in the State, including 200 MW canal top solar PV power projects and 100 MW floating solar PV power project on the reservoirs and lakes.

The state New and Renewable Energy Sources Minister Aman Arora, taking the decision in a high-level meeting, said that the proposed 200 MW Canal Top Solar Project would be installed in a phased manner, under which 50 MW would be installed in the first phase, while projects of remaining capacity would be installed in subsequent phases.

These projects will be executed in Build, Operate and Own (BOO) mode by Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA), he added.

The canal top solar power projects will be installed on small distributaries having less width, which will involve less civil works. The cost of the Canal Top Solar PV Projects is expected to be around Rs five crore per MW after taking in consideration of 20 per cent VGF. The 200 MW Canal Top Solar PV Projects will save at least 1000 acres of precious agricultural land, besides, generating local EMPLOYMENT and preventing water Evaporation from canals, he added.

Similarly, Floating Solar PV Projects are also a new emerging idea being implemented in the country for using the potential area on lakes and reservoirs, which will also lead to saving thousands acres of precious agricultural land. The cost of Floating Solar PV Projects would be around Rs 4.80 crore per MW after considering 20 per cent VGF.

Anaemia among schoolkids on the rise in Himachal

With the increase in the number of anaemic children in Himachal by almost 2 per cent, 11 lakh children from six months to 10 years will be screened and given iron-rich syrup and tablets as per their age group.

As per the recently released National Family Health Survey-V data, the prevalence of anaemia among children between five months and 59 months has increased from 53.7 to 55.4 per cent as compared to the previous National Family Health Survey (NFHS). The children found moderate and severe anaemic during the campaign will be given therapeutic dose of supplements.

The number of total children screened till today is 3,45,002, studying in 14,081 schools. The number of children suffering from mild anaemia is 87,691 and those with severe anaemia is 2,247. All children are being managed as per the guidelines for the Anaemia Mukt Himachal.

The Anaemia-Mukt Himachal is being implemented in all blocks of all districts. Children will be tested for anaemia through digital hemoglobinometer at schools, Anganwadi centres and medical officers at Primary Health Centres.

Himachal stood at the third place with 56.9 per cent coverage in 2020-21 and in 2022-23 (up to June 2022) Himachal was on eighth rank with a coverage of 59.4 per cent.

At present, Himachal is conducting test-Treat and Talk (T3) camps being organised by the Health Department. The campaign is being observed in coordination with the Department of Women and Child Development and Education Department.

CM favours holding cabinet meetings in villages

In a major decision, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed that themeetings of the State Cabinet should be held in the villages. The government would also launch the Mukhyamantri Paryavaran Mitra scheme in Uttarakhand in an attempt to encourage sanitation and cleanliness in the villages. Under the scheme, one sanitation worker would be deployed in every village of the State. Dhami gave the above directives during his meeting with the officers of department in the State secretariat on Thursday. He said that the Mukhyamantri Chaupal scheme would be launched under which he would take part and stay in the village during night. He directed that the foundation day programmes of the Gram Sabhas should be organised in the villages.

He said that the officers and the public representatives would take part in the Chaupals and for it a village wise roster would be made. Dhami said that a plan for development of the village would be prepared on the basis of the suggestions received in the Chaupals. He said that the real India resides in villages and special emphasis on the development of the villages should be done for the all round development of the State. He said that the officers should focus on setting up model villages in the State and for it a master plan should be prepared. The CM opined that short term and long term targets should be set up for rural development. He suggested that the best practices of other States should be studied and implemented if found suitable.

The Panchayati Raj minister Satpal Maharaj said that effective efforts should be made to strengthen the economy of the villages. He said that the village Pradhans should be given Rs 10,000 as disaster fund.

UP govt plans to verify funding sources of unaided madrasas

The Uttar Pradesh government plans to verify the funding sources of over 1,500 unaided madrasas that have declared their sole source of earning as zakat, donations which Muslims make for charitable causes as a religious obligation.

The decision follows a survey of the states 2,000 aided and 15,000 unaided madrasas between August and October . The objective is to verify their land records, sources of earning, classroom and teachers salaries among other expenses.

Minister of State for Minority Welfare Danish Azad Ansari said some madrasas in UP were unregistered and unaffiliated to any recognised school Education board or university.

Backward areas to be focused in upcoming budget

Government of Jharkhand has started preparing the budget estimate for the next financial year 2023-24. Along with this, the revised estimate for 2022-23 is also being prepared. Finance Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh has also written a letter to the departments in this regard and asked them to prepare budget estimates.

Referring to the economic survey of the financial year 2021-22 published by the Planning cum Finance Department Singh said that there is a need to identify such areas by the departments which are still backward in terms of development. He said that while preparing the budget, the departments are expected to prepare relevant plans for the development of such backward areas and prepare a proper budget for those plans. The budget estimate will be on the basis of sanctioned post and working force.

From the financial year 2017-18, the budget in Jharkhand is being prepared by dividing it into four categories which is establishment receipts, establishment expenditure. In the scheme under Central assistance, the schemes running in the current financial year under the Central Sector Scheme, Centrally Sponsored Scheme and State Scheme and the new scheme will focus on income-expenditure in revenue receipt. Transport, land revenue, excise tax etc. Royalty, dividends earned from public undertakings, interest on government borrowings and income of departments from other sources will be included. The budget will also be prepared for the salary and other of the personnel working against the sanctioned posts in the budget. Salary amount will be calculated from September 1.

Construction of Bihars 1st e-way to start soon

The neighbouringUttar Pradeshhas a number of expressways but the first expressway dedicated to Bihar will soon be a reality for people.

The construction of 189-km long Amas-Darbhanga expressway will start soon in Bihar. Union road transport and highways minister,Nitin Gadkariwill visit the state on November 14 to participate in the ‘Sant Samagam’ in Buxar district where he would be laying down the foundation stone of this expressway project.

The 189-km expressway will start from Amas in Aurangabad district located on Delhi-Kolkata NH-19 and will go all the way to NH-27 at the Nawada village in Darbhanga district crossing seven districts, including Arwal, Jehanabad, Patna, Vaishali and Samastipur.

Godhan scheme opens new job avenues in Maoist-hit Dantewada

The Godhan Nyay Yojana — a first-of-its-kind scheme in the country — launched by the Chhattisgarh government to improve the economic condition of cattle owners is opening new doors of EMPLOYMENT for people in Naxalite-hit Dantewada district.

Under this scheme, the government procures cow dung to manufacture vermicompost, which is purchased by farmers as well as government departments.

Gauthans and pastures have been constructed under the scheme at Gram Panchayats of Dantewada district to boost employment at the local level and for cattle owners.

The scheme not only boosts incomes but also strengthens the rural economy.

The Gauthans have become a centre of production and sales with the production of earthworm manure and super compost.

Members of Self-Help Groups are engaged in producing manure from the cow dung purchased under the scheme. The Women in these groups earn good profits by selling the organic manure.

So far 79,377.29 quintals of cow dung worth Rs 158.75 lakhs have been bought. A total of 18,08,944 kg ofvermicompost and 718,381 kg of super compost have been produced.

Similarly, 14,24,071 kg of vermicompost and 66,183 kg of super compost have been sold. The increased use of organic manure is increaces crop production.

New history being created for tribals development: CM

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that a new HISTORY is being created for the all-round development of tribal brethren by implementing the in scheduled areas in Madhya Pradesh. There is a provision in the PESA Act that the Gram Sabha will make an action plan for village development.

The amount received by the Gram Panchayat will be spent only after seeking permission of the Gram Sabha. Gram Sabha will monitor the quality of development works. The muster roll will be placed before the Gram Sabha for inspection.The Gram Sabha will also ensure that the laborers get full remuneration on time. Village Chaupal will now run the government in the village.

All development works will be done only with the permission of the Gram Sabha. The PESA Act is meant to strengthen the tribals in every way. This law is neither against any individual nor against the general and backward class. It has been implemented in the rural areas of 89 scheduled tribe development blocks. In the PESA Act, the rights related to water, forest and land in the scheduled areas have been given to the citizens through the Gram Sabha.
