Haryana Government will organize ‘Krishna Utsav’ on the lines of Gita Mahotsav with a view to promote tourism in the state.

At Krishna Utsav, life events of Shri Krishna will be presented in an enchanting manner with the help of tableaux, music, dance and modern technology.

Regarding the programme of ‘Krishna-Utsav’, the Chief Minister directed that just as Surajkund International Handicraft Fair in Faridabad district and Gita Mahotsav of Kurukshetra have special importance at national and international level, similarly the proposed ‘Krishna-Utsav’ has special significance and should be organized accordingly.

He said that Lord Krishna has a special relation with the land of Haryana. In Kurukshetra, he gave the celestial message of Shrimad Bhagwad Gita to Arjuna.

A study carried out by professors of Punjabi University, Patiala, has found that low remuneration has made handmade phulkari (a traditional art specific to the Patiala region) an economically unviable option for many young women who do not want to take it up as a means of livelihood. The research project report that was released on Monday highlighted that the artisans were not satisfied with their income and were worried about the diminishing demand of handmade phulkari in the local market.

The research was sponsored by the Centre for Womens Development Studies, New Delhi. Professor Ritu Lehal, Director, Womens Studies Centre, who headed the research programme carried out primarily in villages of Patiala district said some artisans reported making eight rupees per flower and three hundred rupees from one Phulkari, which takes 12 to 15 days to complete.

The university faculty members studied the working and earnings of 120 artisans divided in two groups those from training centres and those artisans working since generations.

The Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushal Yojana has provided employment to 3,021 youth and training to 5,320 in various sectors in the state. According to a government press release, a target to provide training to 22,000 youth till the end of 2023 has been fixed.

The scheme is a placement-linked skill training programme, which aims to transform poor rural youth into economically independent and globally relevant workforce. The beneficiaries of the scheme have received EMPLOYMENT in the state and in neighbouring states as well.

As per the release, the scheme has proven to be an effective rural development initiative for poor, rural youth. Such youth in the 15-35 age group, specially abled people, Women and those from weaker sections, up to the age of 45 years, are covered under the scheme. The programme has an outcome-led design with guaranteed placements for at least 70 per cent trained candidates.

The Transport Department is planning to install Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras at entry points of Uttarakhand as a measure to prevent tax fraud by the buses of other transport corporations and to maximise the tax recovery in the State.

Besides this, these high tech cameras will also be used in surveillance, enforcement of traffic rules and identifying traffic rules violators at the borders of the State.

Besides this, the department is also planning to install 10 ANPR cameras in Dehradun district as per the regional transport officer (enforcement) Sandeep Saini to ensure traffic laws enforcement and minimise road accidents.

Electronic Park in Uttar Pradesh

The Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh authorities have cleared a thought to strengthen an Electronic Park, alongside the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area, close to Noida, to promote the electronics .

Highlights:

The park is proposed to be developed in a region of 250 acres of the YEIDA close to Jewar Airport.

National and worldwide groups manufacturing mobile phones, TVs and different digital gadgets and add-ons will set up their devices in the park.

The new Electronic Park will be constructed at a funding of around Rs 50,000 crore to generate EMPLOYMENT for hundreds of neighborhood youths.

Acting on the directions of Union health ministry under the aegis of the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP), the state health department has started a door-to-door survey to identify live tuberculosis (TB) patients.

The survey is aimed at identifying fresh cases of TB as well as to provide them adequate supplements meant for their nutritional balance according to the NTEP. ASHA workers along with block and district-level TB cell officials will be visiting door to door in villages and urban areas to collect sputum of suspected patients.

According to the state Health department records, over 35,000 people were identified as live TB cases across the state and they have been connected with their district TB cell for medication as well as financial assistance.

The state government has prepared a blueprint for creating export hub in every district with the aim to export district-specific products to 75 countries, state industries ministerShahnawaz Hussainsaid.

The exhibition was organized by the Union commerce ministry under the guidance of its additional secretary Amrit Lal Meena on the Adhiveshan Bhavan premises. Among the participants were entrepreneurs, representatives of business and industrial organisations, exporters and importers, manufacturers and traders.

Hussain said Bihar will also contribute to the Centres for the world export project that has put the export target of US$400 billion. Some products from the state were being already exported, but the present aim of the State Government is to increase the volume of export by accessing the market potential in 75 countries.

Highlighting the emerging industrial scenario in the state, Hussain said the industries department has cleared proposals worth Rs35,019 crore, while the companies interested in ethanol production have proposed to produce 187 crore litres of it for supply.

By procuring 2.78 lakh quintals of minor forest produce worth Rs 80.12 crores, Chhattisgarh takes the top spot in the country as per the first trimester of current fiscal data of the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED).

Data for April-July showed that Chhattisgarh procured 277,958 quintals of minor forest produce. Of the total minor forest produce collection in India worth Rs 93 crores during the period, Chhattisgarh accounted for 88.36 percent.

The prominent procurements were of tamarind (including seeds), Sal seed, tamarind flower, chironji kernesl and bahera.

The Managing Director of Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Association, Sanjay Shukla, said at present 52 minor forest produce are being procured in the state at minimum support price.

The also provides additional bonus to procure Kusumi Lac, Rangini Lac and Kullu gum.

Atleast half a dozen food processing and dehydration units have proposed to invest around Rs55 crore in Dalpura village in Sardarpur tehsil ofDhardistrict. These units have collectively proposed to give employment to around 400 people. IBM Software Labs, as part of its expansion in Gujarat, is planning to set up a state-of-the-art product engineering, design and software development center. Although the company had announced that it was working to establish the proposed centre in Ahmedabad, it is also exploring possibilities in GIFT City, said sources.
