Soon, a portal for self-help groups to sell products

Chief ministerManohar Lal Khattarannounced on Sunday that the government will set up an online portal to sell products manufactured by Women from self-help groups.

The government will be branding the products made by these women and selling them online after issuing them quality certificates.

Khattar made the announcement during a video conferencing with the beneficiaries of the self-help group programme in the state on Sunday. In 2014, the state had about 812 self-help groups. Now, the number has increased to more than 57,000 working SHGs.

The CM announced that 25 per cent of the shops allotted by lottery or any other way at the bus stand would be reserved for self-help groups. If the shops are allotted through auction, the self-help group will get a 10 per cent DISCOUNT on the auction amount.

New app, GIS mapping to help MC track down property tax defaulters

Taking a digital leap to catch hold of property tax defaulters, the Ludhiana (MC) has started using a mobile application to come up with maps of different blocks with details of properties in the city. With the help of GIS mapping, the officials have used colour coding to distinguish properties in order to identify tax defaulters.

The department has further integrated the data of GIS mapping with the maps with the help of which UID numbers of the properties have now been marked in the mobile application.

Himachal to start new age courses from Aug in states tech institutions

Himachal Pradesh Government will start new age courses including (AI), data science, and mechatronics engineering in its technical institutions from August this year.

The directions to this effect were given by the Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu while presiding over a review meeting of technical institutions on late Saturday evening.

The Chief Minister emphasized the significance of staying at the forefront of technological advancements. The State Government has taken the decisive step of introducing a range of courses across various institutions in the next academic session, he said.

Stressing on the importance of practical training, Sukhu asked for collaboration with leading companies to provide students with real-world exposure. By fostering such partnerships, the Government aims to bridge the gap between academia and Industry, equipping students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their careers, he added.

Expedite process of setting up of cluster schools: minister

The Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat has directed the officers of the department to expedite the process of setting up cluster schools in the State. The Education department has taken up a plan to set up two cluster schools in every block. The minister gave the order while taking a meeting of the officers of the department.

Apart from the senior officers of the department all the block education officers (BEOs) of the State attended the meeting. In the three -hour long meeting Rawat reviewed the progress of cluster schools, PM Shri schools, performance of the students in the board examinations, distribution of textbooks and the number of teachers and students in the schools. The minister said that the officers of the department should take the parents and public representatives into confidence for merging the schools coming in a perimeter of 10 kilometres of a cluster school. After this the officers should get the DPRs of the cluster schools prepared from the work executing agency, he said.

The minister added that anti-tobacco and anti-drug campaigns should be undertaken in every school. On a stern note Rawat said that the rule of conduct regulations should be followed and students should be imparted moral education. The minister said that action should be taken against the teachers and employees who are absent from a long period of time from their duties. He added that the process of giving compulsory retirement to these absentee employees should be initiated.

UP to increase its green area

In a unique initiative to increase the green area from 9 per cent to 15 per cent by 2026-2027, the Uttar Pradesh government has set a target of planting 35 crore saplings and protecting them this year.

The government has set plantation targets for all the departments and divisions as part of the statewide campaign that will run from July 1 to 7.

The Yogi Adityanath government has also given instructions for availability of high quality saplings to people. Furthermore, the government has directed officials to prepare for planting five crore saplings on Independence Day.

The Yogi government aims at achieving the department-wise targets through cooperation of people. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave instructions in this regard at a recent meeting to make the campaign successful.

There will also be geo tagging of plantation sites. On the other hand, 12.60 crore saplings will be planted by the Forest department and about 22.40 crore saplings by other departments in the mandals.

In order to make the entire state green, the Yogi Adityanath government has asked the officials to plant trees in Forest land, village panchayat and community land, land surrounding expressways and canals, development authority industrial complex land, land for industrial complexes, DEFENCERAILWAY land, land for medical and educational institutions, and other state land with the cooperation of farmers.

CM Employment Generation Scheme aims to benefit 2 lakh youths

The SIMPLIFICATION done by Chief Minister Hemant Soren in the EMPLOYMENT generation scheme is proving to be a boon for self-employed Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward and Minorities. Now by adopting self-employment, they themselves are becoming helpful in providing employment to the owner and others as well. Under the Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Scheme, the government has provided a loan of Rs 104.97 crore to 6272 youths across the state for self-employment in the last two financial years 2021-22 and 2022-23. At the same time, a target has been fixed to benefit about two lakh youth from this scheme in the financial year 2023-24.

Most of the beneficiaries under the scheme are from East Singhbhum. 940 youths here got the benefit of the scheme and an amount of Rs 6.26 crores was released among them for self-employment. A total of 657 youths of Dumka got the benefit of the scheme and they were given a loan of Rs 11.66 crore for self-employment. And in Hazaribagh, an amount of Rs 7.31 crore was issued as loan among 567 youths.

Supply of pure tap water is also being ensured in government schools across the state. Under this, out of total 41408 schools, water is reaching 34215 schools through tap, whose Percentage is 82.63 per cent. Whereas out of 38432 Anganwadi centres, water is being supplied to 25980 Anganwadi centres.

Draft bylaws ready to protect state heritage structures

The NationalMonuments Authority (NMA) has released the draft heritage bylaws for the protection of ancient structures in Rajgir () and the Asoka column at Lauriya in East Champaran district. Both the sites are under the care of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).

The protected site in Rajgir has a number of ruined temples and stone structures including Jarasandh ka Akhara (battleground), Bimbisara jail, Jaina shrine, Mahadeva temple, Son Bhandar cave, Maniyar Math, Jivakamravana (monastery/ancient hospital), Chariot Wheel mark, among others.

The monuments are mostly made of Mauryan bricks, stone rubble, mud mortar and brick jelly.

The general rules of construction will be applicable for all projects as per the Bihar Building Bylaws 2014.

NHA introduces a QR code based solution in ADBM facilities

The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) aims to develop the necessary backbone to support the integrated digital Health of the country. As part of this mission, the National Health Authority (NHA) has introduced a QR-Code-based solution in ABDM-empaneled facilities to enable patients to scan the QR code of the facility and share their demographic details and health records. Gujarat government likely to support Uniform Civil Code

TheGujaratgovernment is expected to respond affirmatively to the Law Commission of India’s notice, which seeks input from various stakeholders on theUniform Civil Code(UCC).

The Law Commission has recently initiated fresh discussions on the topic of the UCC.

Prior to the 2022 Gujarat assembly , the BJP-led State Government had declared its intention to implement the UCC in the state. Consequently, UCC implementation was also one of the prominent pledges made by the ruling party in its election manifesto. However, the state government is yet to establish a committee to assess various aspects of its implementation.

Earlier this year, the state government began the process of fulfilling its much-publicized election pledge to implement the UCC. The Home and legal departments of the state government began efforts to seek legal opinions on whether to introduce the UCC as legislation or through a government resolution.
