Assam to link each constituency to one Circle Office to streamline administration: CM

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that his government is linking every assembly constituency to just one circle office in a bid to streamline the administration. Currently, assembly seats are linked to the district headquarters and one district may have several circles and constituencies.

Sarma said that his government has initiated large-scale changes in the District Administration and a deputy commissioner must not get involved in routine administrative work but spend time on the overall progress in the district across key developmental parameters.

Dashboard Launched For Performance Monitoring Of Govt Schemes In Odisha

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik rolled out the State Dashboard, a data and analytics-powered platform, which will streamline performance monitoring of government schemes, aiding data-driven DECISION MAKING.

The State Dashboard consists of three critical components CM Dashboard, Department Dashboard and Administrative Action Monitoring Portal. The application appraises the performance of different administrative departments on 5T parameters.

The standout features of this dashboard include key performance indicators based performance monitoring and a visual display of progress for timely decision-making. It showcases 30 different dashboards from 16 departments currently, with a plan to add more departments subsequently. It leverages the power of visualization and advanced analytics to appraise the performance of departments and their schemes.

The CM component of the State Dashboard called CM Dashboard is made public so that citizens can access it through the link https://cmdashboard.odisha.gov.in/. Public participation will increase accountability among the departments and ensure more transparency in the service delivery processes.

Tourism, museum depts to upgrade Gangaikonda Cholapuram

Nadutourism departmentjointly with the department of museums plans to improve the basic amenities and Infrastructure at theGangaikonda Cholapuramtemple near Jayankondam in Ariyalur district to boost domestic and international tourism. While the tourism department will prepare a comprehensive tourism development plan at Rs 5 crore, the museums department will construct a museum to display antiques and edutainment facilities.GangaikondaCholapurams archaeological significance stems from its links to the Cholas who made it their capital.

One site belongs to the HR&CE department while the other is owned by the local village panchayat. The site may house the archaeological museum and additional facilities for tourists. Improving basic amenities for tourists is the major focus. The tourism department alone plans to spend Rs 5 crore.

Kerala becomes first state to use robotic scavengers to clean manholes

The Kerala government launched robotic scavenger, Bandicoot, to clean sewages in this temple town, becoming the first state in the country to use robotic technology to clean all its commissioned manholes.

Resources“>Water Resources Minister, Roshi Augustine, launched Bandicoot under the Guruvayur Sewerage Project in Thrissur district by the Kerala Water Authority (KWA), as part of the 100-day action plan of the .

“With the launch of the project in Guruvayur, manual scavenging in Kerala has ended. Now Kerala has become the first state in the country to use robotic scavengers to clean manholes,” Minister claimed in a release.

The robotic Tron Unit, which is the major component of Bandicoot, enters the manhole and removes sewage using robotic hands, similar to a man’s limbs, the release, adding that the machine has waterproof, HD vision cameras and sensors that can detect harmful gases inside the manholes.

Bandicoot, developed by Kerala-based Genrobotics, had recently bagged ‘Kerala Pride’ award at the Huddle Global 2022 conclave organised by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM).

Telangana govt to implement insurance scheme for toddy tappers

The government has decided to introduce aninsurance scheme for toddy tapperson the lines ofRythu Bheema Insurance schemebeing implemented for farmers in the state.

Chief ministerK Chandrasekhar Raohas directed excise minister V Srinivas Goud and finance minister T Harish Rao to prepare guidelines for the insurance scheme.
Under the insurance scheme, if any Toddy tapper dies in an accident, the family will get Rs 5 lakh insurance like Rythu Bheema.

The chief minister said many toddy tappers are losing their lives accidentally falling from palm trees and the government wanted to come to the rescue of the families.

Jagan to deposit 703cr to benefit 9.95L students under Jagananna Vidya Deevena

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would deposit Rs 703 crore directly into the bank accounts of the mothers of 9.95 lakh students, under Jagananna Vidya Deevena programme for its January-March quarter, 2023, payment.

This would be done at the click of a button by the CM during his public meeting at Kovvur in East Godavari. Home minister Taneti Vanitha said Jagan Reddy would reach dais from the helipad through a road show.

The has so far paid Rs 14,912.43 crore including the arrears of Rs 1,778 crore of the previous Telugu Desam government from 2017 onwards, under the Jagananna Vidya Deevena and Jagananna Vasathi Deevena schemes.

As part of the Jagananna Deevena scheme, the state provides financial support to poor students to pursue higher Education by providing them a total fee reimbursement on a quarterly basis. The amount will be directly remitted into the bank accounts of mothers of students after completion of the quarter to help the students pursue ITI, polytechnic, degree, engineering medicine and other courses.

The Jagananna Vasathi Deevana scheme helps students get financial assistance for boarding and lodging expenses. The assistance is fixed at Rs 20,000 for students pursuing degree, engineering and medicine courses, Rs 15,000 for polytechnic students and Rs 10,000 for ITI students in two installments every year.

The financial assistance under this scheme will be extended to all children in a family irrespective of their number.

JSW is 1st steel company to bag Goa mineral block

Jindal Steel Works(JSW), one of the biggest steel companies in India, has bagged the Cudnem-Cormolem mineral block with the highest premium of 96.6% of the Average sale price set by theIndian Bureau of Mines(IBM). JSW has become the first steel company to bag a mineral block in Goa.
Earlier, the lease was run by Fomento. Sources said that during the auction,Fomentoand JSW aggressively bid for the block. The sources said Fomento wants to retain its leases which are spread across 35 hectares of land.

The auction for five mineral blocks that started on Friday saw Fomento bag theAdvalpale-Tivim blockwith the highest premium of 58.8% of the average sale price set by IBM.
